Every year, around the 28th / 29th December, I end up back in this spot.
I umm and err about how I can ‘build an audience’ in the next year, consider what my content streams ought to be (is this a millennial cross to bare?) And every year I feel like a nudge closer to creating a YouTube channel, or even a podcast, and every year, those plans never come to fruition.
This year, I even sat down and recorded the pilot of a podcast idea I’d been working on. It was trash. Consider it very much deleted.
But something that I know I can do with a certain degree of regularity is, of course, to blog. As you may know when I was a teenager, I had a very angsty blog (that remains in the depths of the internet), but one that I enjoyed compiling and writing for every single day.
I wonder perhaps that as each new year dawns, I’m too lofty with my ambitions. Maybe I need to not worry about cultivating an audience so much as cultivating some semi-decent content.
So, here we go. My 2021 resolution, blog more.
Blog everyday? No.
Blog with regular features? No.
Just write about what I want to write about, when I want to write about it.
Easy, eh?
Fingers crossed my next post won’t be December 2021.
